Snakes, Lizards, and Rocks

I went on one nature trip this year, to the Biological Test Station near Mountain Lake. There were four of us, and we met Barbara Howard with a collection of hikers going on a longer hike through the wonders of Mountainlakeland. We went inside the station and saw books on shelves, an old-looking classroom, and an old organ in the corner of one room (upper right). There was one boy with us, and he was expert in finding all the reptiles. He showed up with a lizard (upper left) in his hand that he had found in a nearby pond. Later he picked up a garter snake (lower left). We took a short hike to a pile of rocks near the station.
